Law and the sea
Days before the official opening of the new tourist season the National Construction Control Directorate of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works found there were 193 illegal buildings on the Black Sea coast - mainly entertainment clubs and swimming pools. The law prescribes that only non-permanent buildings may be erected on the sand strip. The construction of massive buildings is prohibited on territories located at less than 100 metres away from the sand. No more than 80% of the sand strip should be covered by umbrellas.
