The Bulgarian economic news portal econ.bg reports that according to a survey done by Coface Bulgaria the construction sector is already among the three riskiest sectors in Bulgaria, the first two being agriculture and retail trade. "Our expectations are that in 2008 this trend will intensify. The main reason is the mass and poorly planned construction along the Black Sea coast and in the mountain resorts. Thus, Bulgaria will reach the common indicators for Central and Eastern Europe. Coface's surveys show that construction is the riskiest sector in the whole region and has suffered the highest number of bankruptcies in 2006 and 2007", says Coface Bulgaria manager Kamelia Popova as quoted by econ.bg.
